This project is possible because of Daniel Kraak (meneerbeer), without him this project would not exist.  I thank him for his continued support in the Gamecube community.

I would also like to thank Emukidid & Extrems developing Swiss.  Though Swiss is not required or shipped with this product it is recommended to use.

GC Loader is GameCube DVD drive replacement that allows you boot homebrew and your existing library of games on DOL-001 and DOL-101 models.  No longer do you need to worry about when your laser will burn out on your DVD drive.  The GC Loader is a full replacement and acts exactly* like an original DVD drive but uses memory cards for its media.

*Some titles will load noticeably faster compared to the original DVD drive.  GC Loader also has full audio streaming support.

Basic Usage:

FAT32 format a 1TB or lower memory card.  Place an ISO file on the memory card called boot.iso and insert the memory card.
Use a program such as GUIFormat to format large Fat32 memory cards. http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm

If you would like to take advantage of a full menu, Swiss is needed.  Simply place Swiss on the memory card called boot.iso.  Drag your other homebrew and backups to memory and insert it in the GC Loader.  Swiss will automatically boot and you will have access to your library.

The Latest version of Swiss r743 supports the GCLoader and can be downloaded from the github.  https://github.com/emukidid/swiss-gc/releases Make sure to you choose the correct region for your gamecube.

Write support to the GCLoader is not 100% working.  This means to use features in Swiss, such as force resolution a separate SD card device is needed, such as an SDGecko or SD2SP2 to store these settings.  Write support will be added very soon to the GCLoader so these extra devices will not be needed in the future.

Clean Rip

This software can used to rip your existing library to SD.  https://wiibrew.org/wiki/CleanRip
Priacy is not condoned and this product shall not be used for this purpose.

Many titles have been tested but there might be some issues that still exist that we have not found.  The firmware is easily updated so if there are any problems they will be fixed.  We expect and strive for 100% compatibility.

A flex cable is supplied with each unit that is easily soldered to the bottom of the GameCube’s DVD drive port.  The flex lays over through hole pins so soldering is simple.  You can desolder your existing DVD drive connector and solder this to bottom of the GC-Loader but this requires advanced  desoldering skills.  The flex installation performs identical to this.

Existing wasp installations can plug directly into the GC Loader.  However it is recommended you remove your existing setup and install the new flex for a cleaner installation.

Known Issues:

Write support to the GCLoader - This will allow Swiss patches to work without SDGecko or SD2SP2
Multi Disc Support - Multi disc game swaping is still a problem.  This will be fixed in a future firmware update.

Updating is very simple, just drag the update file onto the memory card and launch the update.
Newest update files can always be found here: http://dansprojects.com/firmware/GCLoader/
